Handmade gifts in Worcestershire

Gifts and homewares company, Handmade in Hartlebury was born out of a passion for creating wonderful things from an early age and, more recently, for my children. From my children's reactions to receiving the gifts, I grew to realise that I should share my inspiration with you all – so here is a charming selection of quintessentially English, cosy, homely and traditional products. They are based on the very same design ideal I’ve always created of small repeat patterns, all mixed up. I 'm sure you will find a perfect place for them, even in the most modern of country homes.

The creative behind Handmade in Hartlebury

I live in Hartlebury with my husband and three young sons and after a successful career in finance, I am following my heart in designing and creating my unique gifts for others. For example, the tooth fairy cushion was made because our oldest one (now seven) suddenly said to me one day, "Mummy, (gasp!) I've got a wobbly tooth!" He was so excited I had to make something to mark this occasion for him and it worked wonderfully. The cushion pocket was perfect for putting his tooth in and he woke up to find that the tooth fairy had visited and replaced his little tooth with a bright shiny coin – and had even left a little trail of glittery fairy dust behind too!

Ever since receiving my first Fisher Price sewing machine (aged six) I've loved sewing and creating things. Each gift made is a very rewarding experience knowing it will be given to someone special and hopefully displayed for many years. Now I am all grown up (and several craft stalls later), I'm proud to present my latest range. With the fabulous avenue of the internet, I can reach much more people than the Village hall craft fair can manage and hopefully spread the word about my products far and wide!

Hartlebury, a quaint village in Worcestershire

Hartlebury is the most northerly village in the parish district of Wychavon in the county of Worcestershire. It is located near Kidderminster and Stourport on Severn.  The village is mainly a rural residential area including a 216 acre heathland Common, with the centre of the village having been designated a conservation area. Hartlebury Castle, formerly home to the Bishops of Worcester for more than 1000 years, is the jewel in the crown and is home to the Worcestershire County Museum.

Village life thrives within Hartlebury with a post office, four public houses, two churches, a general store, a hairdresser, an independent school and a primary school that caters for 4-11 year olds and of course, the village hall.

Caveat

Although I make every effort to produce the products identically, there may be slight differences between the photo and the product you receive. For example, the spots may be in different places etc. These items are individually handmade and therefore each one is unique.

The main materials that I use are Laura Ashley and Clarke & Clarke. Both of these fabrics are machine washable at 40 degrees. However, take care that your product doesn't have any other material on (e.g. felt) that wouldn't take kindly to the spin cycle. Sponge clean these items. Any questions, just send me a quick email. The stuffing inside is soft polyester fibre filling.
